Lounge Underwear Jobs Solihull

Where is Lounge

Lounge was founded by Daniel and Melanie Marsden and built as a direct-to-consumer brand selling through its own website before moving onto the high street in 2023.

It has since rebranded from Lounge Underwear to simply Lounge, which is worth knowing because both names still appear across job boards.

The company outgrew its original base in Bromsgrove and moved to Solihull. Its two Solihull sites are close together but do completely different jobs:

Head office

1 Blythe Gate, Blythe Valley Park

A three storey building of around 54,000 sq ft. It was previously occupied by Oracle, which has since moved to Solihull town centre (see our guide to Oracle jobs in Solihull if that employer is also on your list).

Warehouse

A unit of roughly 36,700 sq ft at the Connexion development on the same park, where orders are picked, packed and dispatched.

Both sit at junction 4 of the M42 at Shirley.

There is no railway station on the park, though a free peak time shuttle runs to Birmingham International and hourly buses serve Dorridge and Solihull town centre.

Our guide to working at Blythe Valley Park covers the commute, parking and the other employers on site in full.

The stores are not in Solihull

Lounge's retail estate is national and international with stores at Westfield White City in London, the Trafford Centre in Manchester, Trinity Leeds, Cabot Circus in Bristol and Cardiff, plus European sites including Oberhausen and a concession at KaDeWe in Berlin, alongside Selfridges concessions.

There is no Lounge store in Solihull or Birmingham.

HQME is the search term that finds Solihull roles

Lounge advertises on its own careers site rather than relying on job boards, and it tags head office vacancies with the location label HQME rather than Solihull.

Lounge's own careers FAQs confirm that all available positions at HQME and in its retail stores are listed on that page.

So when you filter its vacancy list by location, look for HQME. Searching for 'Solihull' on the site or on a job board will miss roles.

Jobs at Lounge head office

The HQ runs a digital first business, so the functions reflect that rather than a traditional retail head office:

  • Digital and e-commerce
  • Marketing and paid media
  • Influencer and social
  • Creative and content
  • Product
  • Supply chain and operations
  • Client services
  • People and corporate

Lounge sells heavily into Germany, and its head office recruits language specific client services roles. A German speaker in the West Midlands has a genuinely unusual local option here.

The HQ also staffs teams for sister label Indigo Lune, whose roles appear under their own department on Lounge's vacancy list but are based at the Solihull head office.

Warehouse roles at Connexion

Lounge runs its own fulfilment operation at Blythe Valley rather than outsourcing it, which means picking, packing, dispatch, goods-in, returns processing, quality checking and warehouse team leader roles are Lounge jobs on a Lounge contract, not agency roles at a third-party logistics site.

Because the warehouse sits on the same park as the HQ, the commute considerations are identical. Fine by car, workable via the Birmingham International shuttle, awkward on an hourly bus if you are on early or late shifts.

What Lounge pays

As a general guide, warehouse and retail roles are paid hourly and sit broadly in line with regional rates for those sectors.

Head office roles are salaried and follow West Midlands market rates for digital, marketing and e-commerce, which means specialist paid media, e-commerce and creative roles can be competitive while entry level marketing and client services roles are more modest.

The average full-time wage in Solihull is the highest of any West Midlands local authority. Ask about the base salary, any bonus mechanism and the review cycle at first conversation stage rather than waiting for an offer.

The benefits

Lounge publishes its benefits, and it states explicitly that the headline package applies to HQ-based roles, with a separate package for retail.

The advertised head office package includes 25+ days holiday, flexible working, health insurance, enhanced parental leave, an electric car scheme and a staff discount.

Employee reports also describe flexible start and finish windows and a regular working from home day,.

The four brand values

Lounge publishes four brand values, and like most consumer brands it interviews against them:

  • Aspirational, attainable luxury
  • Celebrate the sexy
  • Empower women
  • Be iconic

Who Lounge suits

Lounge grew fast from a standing start and still operates that way.

It suits people who want commercial pace, clear metrics and a brand led business, and who are comfortable when the job description evolves under them.

Lounge suits people less well if they want defined structures, settled processes and slow, consensus driven decisions.

Lounge jobs FAQs

Where is Lounge's head office?

1 Blythe Gate, Blythe Valley Park, Solihull, at junction 4 of the M42

Why can't I find Lounge jobs in Solihull?

Because head office vacancies are tagged HQME rather than Solihull on Lounge's own careers site.

Is there a Lounge store in Solihull or Birmingham?

No. The stores are in London, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol and Cardiff, plus European locations and Selfridges concessions. Solihull is head office and warehouse only.

Does Lounge hire warehouse staff directly?

Yes. Lounge runs its own fulfilment operation at Blythe Valley Park rather than outsourcing it, so picking, packing and dispatch roles are Lounge contracts. Recruitment increases ahead of the autumn and Christmas peak.

Do I need fashion experience to work at Lounge?

Not for most head office roles. The business is digital first, so e-commerce, performance marketing, CRM, analytics and supply chain experience from any consumer sector is more relevant than a fashion background.

Warehouse roles require no sector experience at all.
