Contract: 12 Months Fixed Term Maternity Cover (28.5 hours per week)

Location: New Bradley Hall, Compton Drive, Kingswinford, DY6 9NS

Salary: £13.09 per hour

New Bradley Hall is a purpose built, dementia friendly home, offering the highest quality of residential care in a stylish and homely environment. The home provides 66 en-suite rooms across three floors, all furnished to the highest standard. There are a range of lounges and quiet rooms, so that individuals are able to enjoy a varied lifestyle. Within the home there is also a purpose built cinema room, on-site hairdressing facilities and a café area. Our aim is to provide the right care, tailored to meet residents’ individual needs and preferences. We want to support residents to maximise their independence.

Join our team as a Cook and become an integral part of a vibrant and hard-working team. Your primary role will involve preparing, cooking, and serving nutritious dishes while supporting the efficient operation of our kitchen. Embrace a dynamic work setting that prioritises teamwork, customer satisfaction, and adherence to the highest standards of hygiene and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the Cook in Charge and step up when needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Skilfully assist in the preparation and cooking of diverse dishes, meeting specific customer requirements and maintaining quality.
- Receive, check, and maintain records of incoming stock, ensuring compliance with food hygiene regulations.
- Uphold impeccable standards of kitchen hygiene, storage, and equipment cleanliness.
- Utilise established cooking methods, recipes, and weigh food ingredients accurately.
- Promote and practice personal and kitchen hygiene for a safe working environment.

Skills and Experience required:

- Knowledge of Food Hygiene Standards
- Proven track record in food preparation and service, especially within a larger catering setup.
- Experience working with individuals with specific dietary needs.
- Ability to follow guidelines, menus, and safety protocols

- Food Hygiene Certificate:** Possession of a valid food hygiene certificate.
- City & Guilds or equivalent in NVQ 2 professional cookery, or willingness to work towards it.
