About you

You’re someone who genuinely enjoys speaking to customers, building relationships and making sure people get a good service.

You’re organised, comfortable picking up the phone and naturally proactive. You don’t need to be an aggressive salesperson, but you’re happy having commercial conversations and spotting an opportunity when one comes up.

There is some outbound activity in the role, but this isn’t sitting on a dialler hammering cold data. The majority of the role is about looking after customers properly, understanding what they need and building good relationships over time.

Your experience

You could already be working in customer service, sales support, internal sales or junior account management.

Experience within print, signage, exhibitions or a similar product-led business would be useful, but it isn’t essential. The business is open to someone earlier in their career who has the right attitude and wants to develop.

You’ll be confident speaking to customers over the phone and email, comfortable juggling different enquiries and able to keep on top of quotes, orders and follow-ups.

A little commercial confidence is important. You don’t need to be a polished salesperson, but you should be comfortable asking questions, making outbound calls and having conversations that could lead to more business.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be given existing customer accounts to look after, becoming a regular point of contact and making sure they receive a consistently good service.

You’ll handle enquiries, quotes and orders, keep customers updated and work closely with the internal team to make sure everything runs smoothly from enquiry through to delivery.

Alongside that, you’ll make warm outbound calls each day. These could be checking in with customers, following up previous conversations or getting back in touch with accounts where there may be an opportunity to do more.

The idea isn’t to turn you into a hard-nosed salesperson. It’s to give you the confidence to manage relationships commercially and gradually develop existing accounts.

About the business

You’ll be joining an established trade supplier working across the print, display and exhibition industry.

They supply a broad range of display products and printed graphics to other businesses and have built their model around being a reliable behind-the-scenes partner to their customers.

It’s also a business that is actively developing its product range and the way customers order from them, so there’s plenty to learn and a genuine opportunity to develop your account management and commercial skills.
