SEND Teaching Assistant

The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of additional needs, including challenging behaviour, SEMH and complex SEND requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a positive difference to young people who may require additional support to engage with education.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
  • Providing emotional, behavioural and academic support
  • Managing challenging behaviour using positive and consistent strategies
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Working closely with teaching staff and the wider pastoral team
  • Supporting pupils to develop confidence, resilience and independence

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working within a school, PRU or alternative provision setting
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or SEMH
  • Confident managing challenging behaviour
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential
