A well-established engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Geotechnical Engineer to join their Manchester team. The role would suit an experienced Graduate or Geotechnical Engineer looking to develop their career across a varied range of ground engineering projects.
The Role:
- Undertake geotechnical assessments and interpret ground investigation data.
- Produce factual and interpretative geotechnical reports.
- Carry out slope stability, bearing capacity and settlement assessments.
- Assist with foundation, retaining wall and earthworks design.
- Review ground investigation information and develop ground models.
- Support site investigations and liaise with contractors and clients.
- Work alongside engineers across wider civil and infrastructure projects.
The Candidate:
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related subject.
- Previous experience within a geotechnical consultancy or ground engineering environment.
- Good understanding of geotechnical principles and UK ground conditions.
- Experience with geotechnical calculations and design software would be beneficial.
- Strong report-writing and communication skills.
- Working towards or interested in achieving Chartered status.
