Project Manager - High-Security Fit-Out | Reading

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join a leading main contractor on a c.£5m high-security fit-out project in Reading.

This is a high-profile project requiring an experienced construction professional with a proven track record of delivering complex projects and the ability to operate effectively within a highly controlled, security-sensitive environment.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project from pre-construction through to completion, working closely with the client, design team, consultants, subcontractors and internal commercial and operational teams.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Taking overall responsibility for project delivery, programme, quality and health & safety.
• Managing and coordinating subcontractors, consultants and site teams.
• Driving the programme to ensure key milestones and completion dates are achieved.
• Managing project risks, change and commercial interfaces.
• Leading project meetings and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Ensuring works are delivered to the required specification and quality standards.
• Coordinating design, procurement and construction activities.
• Maintaining rigorous standards around site security, access and confidentiality.
• Providing clear and accurate reporting on progress, programme, risk and overall project performance.

About You

We are looking for an established Project Manager with a strong track record of delivering £5m+ fit-out or refurbishment projects, ideally within commercial, government, defence, critical infrastructure or other security-sensitive environments.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience managing projects valued at £5m+.
• A strong fit-out and/or refurbishment background.
• Excellent programme and subcontractor management skills.
• Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
• A methodical, organised and highly professional approach to project delivery.
• Relevant construction qualifications, such as SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid.
• Existing high-level security clearance or the ability to obtain the required clearance.
• A British passport, due to the security requirements of the project.

Security Clearance

High-level security clearance is an essential requirement for this position.

Due to the sensitive nature of the project, candidates will be required to meet the relevant nationality and security-vetting requirements before being granted access to the site/project.
