CNC Machine Programmer (computer Numerical Control Machine Programmer)

Duration : Permanent Day Shift

Salary : £40-42,000

We are hiring for our client that serves global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and high-tier suppliers supplying, complex components.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist who will be responsible for setting, operating, and programming CNC Turning and Mill-Turn machines to produce precision-engineered components to exact customer specifications and quality standards.

Working within a fast-paced, high-precision environment, you will collaborate closely with supervisors and production colleagues to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set, operate, and programme CNC Turning and Mill-Turn machinery.
  • Manufacture high-quality components in accordance with engineering drawings and work order specifications.
  • Ensure production targets and delivery schedules are achieved.
  • Carry out in-process inspections and quality checks using measuring equipment.
  • Complete all required production and quality documentation accurately.
  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Maintain a safe and organised working environment.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience setting, operating, and programming CNC Turning and multi-axis machines.
  • Good understanding of tooling, fixtures, speeds and feeds, machine controls, and machining practices.
  • Experience with FANUC, Okuma QSP-200L, ISO and/or Mazatrol programming.
  • Knowledge of live tooling and multi-axis machining.
  • Experience working to tight tolerances in a precision engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with CMM inspection and conventional measuring equipment.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Advanced CAD/CAM knowledge, including SolidWorks and hyperMill, would be advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Apprenticeship trained preferred.
  • Recognised Engineering qualification such as City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent.
