Property Surveyor

MMP is seeking an experienced Property Surveyor to support the delivery of major works, planned maintenance, and cyclical investment programmes across a diverse residential property portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified surveyor with a strong understanding of asset management, building safety, and housing compliance to play a key role in maintaining and improving our homes.

Location: Hybrid with regular travel
Salary: £56,650 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday (occasional evening and weekend work may be required)
Reports to: Head of Asset Investment and Programmes
Car Allowance: Casual User Car Allowance payable

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake stock condition surveys and property inspections.
  • Produce detailed survey and inspection reports using asset management systems.
  • Develop and support delivery of major works, planned maintenance, and cyclical programmes.
  • Prepare specifications, tender documentation, and oversee contract delivery.
  • Carry out site inspections to ensure quality, compliance, and value for money.
  • Manage contractors, consultants, and Employer's Agents.
  • Monitor building safety compliance and statutory obligations.
  • Support the development of 5-year investment and asset management plans.
  • Undertake HHSRS inspections and provide recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate asset and compliance records.
  • Produce reports for audits, performance monitoring, and management information.
  • Act as a technical advisor to property management teams and support resident satisfaction initiatives.

Essential

  • Recognised professional qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a residential Property Surveyor role.
  • Experience delivering major works and planned maintenance programmes.
  • Strong understanding of housing legislation and compliance requirements, including:
    • Building Safety Act 2022
    • Fire Safety Act 2021
    • HHSRS
    • Decent Homes Standard
    • Social Housing Regulation requirements
  • Knowledge of fire safety and building compliance.
  • Project and budget management experience.
