About Us
ctrg is a UK workforce provider recruiting into logistics, warehousing, HGV driving and manufacturing.
It was known as Challenge-trg Recruitment until the rebrand, trades as CTRG Limited, and is part of the swipejobs group.
What ctrg recruits for
- Warehouse. Warehouse Operative, Warehouse Operative MHE, Reach Truck Operative, Reach Truck Driver, Warehouse LLOP Driver, Packing Operative, General Operative, Skilled Operative.
- HGV and driving. HGV Class 1 Driver, Class 1 Driver, and a steady run of new pass and three month experience roles. FLT Driver and combined Warehouse Operative / FLT Driver posts appear constantly.
- Food and production. Production Operative, Food Production Operative on day, night and evening shifts, Machine Operator, and seasonal lines such as mince pie production.
- Site and admin. Team Leader, Site Coordinator, Transport Administrator, Engineering Admin, Recycling Operative, Cleaner.
If you hold a Class 1 licence, note that ctrg advertises new pass roles regularly. That is unusual, and it is worth filtering for if you have recently qualified and are struggling to find an employer who will take you without experience.
Where ctrg is hiring
ctrg recruits nationally, but the vacancies cluster into five areas.
- Cheshire and the North West. Crewe is consistently the single largest source of ctrg roles on this board, with Warrington, Liverpool, Bolton and Chorley behind it.
- Central Scotland. Livingston, Motherwell, Glasgow, Hamilton and Falkirk, plus occasional roles as far south as Girvan.
- South Wales. Pontypool, Cwmbran, Hengoed and Swansea.
- The Midlands. Coventry, Derby, Birmingham, Lichfield, Lutterworth, Northampton, Rugby and Ilkeston.
- Somerset and the South East. Bridgwater and Highbridge in the west, Aylesford, Grays, Bedford and Wisbech in the east.
Browse the wider market in those areas: Crewe, Warrington, Livingston, Motherwell, Glasgow, Pontypool, Coventry, Derby, Birmingham and Bridgwater.
Who you would actually be working for
This is the part most candidates miss. ctrg is the employer on your contract, but you are placed on a client site, and ctrg publishes its client list openly. The named clients are Tesco, Amazon, Co-op and GXO.
A Tesco distribution centre and an Amazon fulfilment centre are very different places to work on the same job title. Where a listing names the site or gives a postcode, look it up before you apply.
What ctrg roles pay
Rates are shown live on each listing above rather than quoted here, because they move. What drives the differences:
- Shift. Nights and weekends carry a premium over days on the same role, and it is often a large one on production lines.
- Licence and ticket. Class 1 pays above Class 2, and reach truck, counterbalance and MHE tickets pay above general warehouse work.
- Overtime rate. Several ctrg listings quote a wide band, where the top figure is an overtime or weekend rate rather than the standard one. Compare the bottom of the band across listings, not the top.
- Client site. The same job title pays differently at different client sites.
Looking for the ctrg colleague portal?
A lot of people searching for ctrg want the existing worker login rather than a new job.
Hiredonline cannot help with timesheets, payslips, shift bookings or account access.
The colleague portal is at my.challengetrg.co.uk, still on the old Challenge-trg domain after the rebrand, and anything to do with an existing placement needs to go through ctrg directly.
If you are looking for a new role, the listings above are live and you can apply without registering.
Frequently asked questions
Is ctrg the same as Challenge-trg Recruitment?
Yes. Challenge-trg Recruitment rebranded to ctrg, and the registered company is CTRG Limited. The colleague login portal still runs on the old challengetrg.co.uk domain, which is why both names still appear in search results.
What companies does ctrg recruit for?
ctrg publishes its client list, and the named clients are Tesco, Amazon, Co-op and GXO. You are employed by ctrg but placed on a client site, so the site sets your shift pattern and working conditions.
Does ctrg take newly qualified HGV drivers?
Yes. ctrg advertises new pass Class 1 roles and roles requiring only three months of Class 1 experience on a regular basis, which is less common than most driving agencies.
Where does ctrg have the most jobs?
On this board, Crewe is consistently the largest single location, followed by Bridgwater, Livingston, Glasgow, Pontypool, Coventry, Derby and Motherwell. The work clusters into Cheshire, Central Scotland, South Wales, the Midlands and Somerset.
Do I need an account to apply for ctrg jobs here?
No. Every ctrg listing on this page can be applied to direct, without creating a profile first.
Are ctrg roles temporary or permanent?
Both appear. Much industrial and driving recruitment of this kind runs on a temporary contract that can convert to permanent after a qualifying period, so a temporary listing is often the route into a permanent role rather than an alternative to it.
