Production Engineer / Panel Builder

The Opportunity

We are working with an innovative technology business operating within the Smart Buildings and Energy Management sector, who are looking to appoint a Production Engineer / Panel Builder to join their team in Burgess Hill.

The company develops its own hardware and software solutions across areas including energy monitoring, energy management, communications and lighting control, helping major organisations improve energy efficiency and work towards their Net Zero targets.

The Role

This is a hands-on, practical position working within the company's production office and workshop. You will be involved in building and preparing electrical control equipment, as well as supporting the wider production and order fulfilment process.

Your responsibilities will include:

Building and assembling control boxes and electrical panels for energy and lighting control projects.
Processing sales and purchase orders.
Managing goods in and goods out, including preparing and shipping orders to UK and international customers.
Loading software onto hardware as part of the production process.
Supporting general production activities and ensuring equipment is prepared to the required standard.
Working closely with colleagues across the business to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time.

About You

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, practical, organised and keen to learn. Previous electrical engineering or panel-building experience would be beneficial but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

You will ideally have:

Good basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word and Excel.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
A practical, hands-on approach to work.
A willingness to learn new technical skills and develop a career within engineering.
Experience with Sage or similar systems would be advantageous.
A professional and proactive attitude.
