Practice Nurse – Chorley

Vela Medical Group is currently recruiting an experienced Practice Nurse to join a welcoming and well-established GP surgery in Chorley.

The Role

As a Practice Nurse, you'll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients within a busy GP surgery. You'll work autonomously while collaborating closely with GPs and other healthcare professionals to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities

Chronic disease management, including asthma, COPD and diabetes reviews
Immunisations and vaccinations
Cervical cytology (where qualified)
Wound care and dressings
NHS Health Checks
ECGs and other routine clinical procedures
Travel vaccinations (where applicable)
Health promotion and patient education
Supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care within the GP surgery

Candidate Requirements

To be considered, you should have:

Current NMC registration
Previous experience working as a Practice Nurse within a GP surgery
Experience running chronic disease clinics
Competency in immunisations and vaccinations
Cervical cytology experience (desirable)
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A patient-centred approach to care
Experience using GP clinical systems such as EMIS Web or SystmOne is advantageous
