Temporary Accounts Assistant
Watford | Hybrid (2 Days Office / 3 Days Home)
Circa £35,000 - £38,000 Equivalent + Holiday Pay

An established and well-respected business based in Watford is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant/ Accountant to join the finance team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied accounting role and is available to start at short notice.

Working closely with an experienced finance team, you'll play a key role in supporting the smooth running of day-to-day finance operations, with a particular focus on reconciliations, financial controls and ensuring accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing and completing balance sheet reconciliations.
- Investigating and resolving reconciling items in a timely manner.
- Supporting month-end close activities, including journals and accruals.
- Assisting with cash and bank reconciliations.
- Supporting intercompany reconciliations where required.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
- Assisting with process improvements and ad hoc finance projects.
- Working closely with colleagues across finance and the wider business to resolve queries.

The Person:
- Previous experience in an accounting or finance role with strong reconciliation experience.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to hit the ground running.
- Good Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ideally AAT qualified or studying, although qualified by experience candidates with relevant skills will also be considered.
- Available immediately or on short notice.
