Sales Account Manager

Location: Peterborough
Salary: £40,000 per annum

Are you a sales focused professional with experience managing key customer relationships and growing existing accounts?

Our client is seeking an experienced Sales Account Manager to join their established and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity to build on your existing account management experience while developing your knowledge of key customers, products and services.

The role is primarily office based, with travel to customer sites as required.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse market trends and customer requirements to identify sales opportunities, potential volumes and appropriate pricing.
Develop and implement targeted sales campaigns across existing customer accounts.
Proactively engage with customers to build strong, long-term relationships and identify opportunities for account growth and new business.
Re-engage with previous customers to maximise sales opportunities.
Visit customer sites to meet with key stakeholders and understand their requirements.
Increase sales and average order values through effective cross-selling and upselling.
Manage customer requirements and deliver consistently high levels of customer service.
Negotiate commercial terms effectively to secure and close sales.
Prepare accurate reports in line with agreed formats and deadlines.
Support the resolution of challenging or complex customer enquiries.
Work closely with the internal sales team to ensure customer requirements are communicated and managed effectively.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will have:

At least 2 years'proven experience in account management or a similar customer-facing sales role.
A highly motivated, tenacious and results-driven approach.
The ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
A full, valid driving licence.
