The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and commercially focused HR Business Partner to join our team and play a key role in supporting leaders, managers and employees across the organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working closely with the business, providing trusted advice and coaching, and making a genuine difference to organisational performance, culture and employee experience.

You will act as a trusted people expert, partnering with managers and business leaders to understand their challenges, provide pragmatic HR advice and develop solutions that support both people and business objectives.

You will have the opportunity to work across a broad range of HR activities, including employee relations, performance management, talent, workforce planning, organisational change, reward and wider people initiatives.

What You Will Be Doing

You will work closely with business leaders, managers and key stakeholders to build organisational and people capability, helping to shape and implement effective and consistent people strategies and activities.

A key part of the role will be providing strategic and expert HR advice, while also coaching and supporting managers to develop their own people capability. You will build strong relationships across the organisation, acting as a trusted point of HR expertise and challenging and influencing appropriately when required.

You will support the business in creating a high-performing culture by helping managers manage performance effectively, identify performance differences and address underperformance proactively. You will provide guidance throughout the performance management cycle and support performance calibration activity.

You will coach leaders and managers to strengthen their leadership capability and help them develop effective approaches to managing their teams.

The role will also involve supporting complex employee relations matters, ensuring that decisions and actions are consistent with company policy, employment legislation, best practice and the organisation’s values. You will support managers with investigations and help them resolve challenging employee relations situations fairly, objectively and effectively.

You will take an active role in HR and organisational projects, supporting the development and delivery of wider people initiatives and programmes. This may include reward reviews, performance reviews, payroll and reward communications, organisational change and other strategic HR activities.

You will work closely with internal teams, external service providers and recruitment agencies to support resourcing activity in line with established processes.

You will also provide guidance on HR policies and day-to-day people matters, ensuring employees and managers have access to consistent, practical and appropriate HR support.

An important part of the role will be maintaining a strong understanding of employment legislation and regulatory requirements, helping to minimise legal risk and ensure compliance. You will work with internal and external specialists, including legal and occupational health providers, where appropriate.

You will analyse people trends and metrics and use these insights to help develop practical solutions, policies and programmes. You will also provide HR guidance and input into business change, workforce planning, talent management and succession planning.

Above all, you will work collaboratively with managers and employees to improve working relationships, strengthen morale, increase productivity and support employee retention.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for an experienced HR professional who can operate confidently at both a strategic and operational level.

You will have strong knowledge of employee relations, performance management, employment legislation and wider HR practices, together with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of an organisation.

You will be confident coaching and influencing managers and leaders, including the ability to constructively challenge established practices where necessary.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand complex people and business issues and turn them into practical solutions.

You will be comfortable working independently while also collaborating as part of a wider HR team and contributing to organisational projects and initiatives.

Experience of working within a complex, fast-paced or regulated organisation would be advantageous.
