School Receptionist - Canterbury

Full-time | £14.50+ per hour | Temp-to-Perm | Start ASAP

Academics Ltd, a leading education recruitment agency, is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-established school in Canterbury to recruit an experienced and professional School Receptionist for a full-time temp-to-perm position starting ASAP.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, personable and experienced school receptionist to join a supportive school environment. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for pupils, parents, visitors and staff, playing a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the school's front office.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the first point of contact for all visitors, parents, pupils and staff, providing a warm and professional welcome.
Answer and direct telephone calls, respond to emails and deal with enquiries efficiently.
Manage the school's reception area, ensuring visitors are signed in and safeguarding procedures are followed.
Carry out general administrative duties including filing, scanning, data entry and correspondence.
Maintain accurate pupil records using the school's management information system.
Support attendance administration and other day-to-day school office tasks.
Assist the Senior Leadership Team and wider administration team with general administrative support.
Manage incoming and outgoing post and deliveries.
Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
Ensure the reception area and front office are maintained to a professional standard.

Requirements

Previous experience working within a school reception or school office is essential.
Experience using Arbor, SIMS or another school management system is desirable.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
A friendly, professional and approachable manner.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality within a school environment.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
