Senior Children's Adventure Care Worker

Buxton, Derbyshire
£43,740 - £48,186 per annum
4 Days On, 6 Days Off Rota

We are recruiting for a Senior Children's Adventure Care Worker to join a specialist children's residential home in Buxton.

This is a unique opportunity to combine therapeutic residential childcare with outdoor and adventure-based activities, supporting young people through a trauma-informed approach. You will help provide a safe, nurturing environment where children can develop confidence, resilience and independence while achieving positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality care and support to young people
Build positive and trusting relationships
Support emotional wellbeing and behaviour management
Participate in outdoor and adventure activities
Maintain accurate records and care plans
Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed
Support young people with daily routines, education and life skills

Requirements

Minimum 12 months' experience within a Children's Residential Home
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or above, or close to completion
Full UK Driving Licence
Knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted standards and residential childcare legislation
Experience of de-escalation and physical intervention techniques
Passion for supporting vulnerable young people and outdoor activities
Right to work in the UK
Applicants must be aged 21+ due to industry regulations
