Are you an experienced Regional Sales Manager, Area Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, or Materials Handling Sales Manager with a proven track record in the forklift or related industry?

Our client, a rapidly growing and highly respected materials handling solutions provider, is looking to appoint an ambitious Regional Sales Manager to drive growth across their South East territory. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Area Sales Manager or Business Development Manager who thrives on winning new business while developing long-term customer relationships.

Working within an established territory that already benefits from an existing customer base, the successful Regional Sales Manager will focus on both account development and generating new business opportunities across the materials handling sector.

The Opportunity

This is a field-based sales role where you'll take ownership of the full sales cycle, from prospecting and appointment setting through to delivering presentations, equipment demonstrations, negotiating contracts, and ultimately securing new business.

As a Materials Handling Sales Manager, you will adopt a consultative sales approach, engaging with decision-makers at all levels, from operational teams through to senior leadership, identifying customer needs and delivering tailored solutions.

The ideal Area Sales Manager will possess strong territory planning skills, commercial awareness, and the determination to consistently exceed sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

Generate and develop new business opportunities throughout the South East region of the UK
Manage and grow existing customer accounts.
Conduct customer meetings, presentations, and equipment demonstrations.
Prepare and deliver competitive quotations and proposals.
Negotiate commercial agreements and close sales opportunities.
Identify additional revenue streams and up selling opportunities.
Gather market intelligence and competitor information.
Maintain accurate records and pipeline management using CRM systems.
Analyse sales activity and identify opportunities for growth.
Build strong relationships with customers across multiple levels within their organisation.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this Regional Sales Manager position, you will have:

Ideally materials handling or related sales experience within for example the Forklift industry.
Proven success in a Business Development Manager, Area Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, or similar field sales role.
Strong new business development and lead generation skills.
Excellent account management and customer retention abilities.
Outstanding presentation, negotiation, and objection-handling skills.
A consultative, solution-focused sales approach.
Strong commercial awareness and market knowledge.
Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent organisational, territory planning, and time management skills.
A stable employment history demonstrating commitment and success.
