We are seeking a commercially focused Sales Executive to join a growing business based in Hartford.

The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, developing strong B2B relationships and delivering a high standard of service throughout the customer journey. This varied role involves proactive business development, client meetings, commercial negotiations and collaboration with internal teams.

The position would suit a confident and motivated sales professional with experience in the food and drink sector who enjoys building relationships and winning new business.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and develop new business opportunities through proactive outreach, networking and strategic prospecting.
Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing B2B customers.
Understand customers' requirements and present appropriate, commercially viable solutions.
Manage the sales process from initial contact through to negotiation and close.
Negotiate pricing, contracts and commercial terms.
Arrange and attend client meetings, presentations and industry events.
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date pipeline using the company's CRM system.
Work closely with internal departments to ensure the smooth onboarding and delivery of new accounts.
Respond promptly to customer enquiries and resolve any issues effectively.
Monitor market activity, customer trends and competitor developments.
Provide regular updates on sales activity, opportunities and performance.
Contribute to agreed revenue, new-business and profitability targets.
Represent the business professionally during all customer interactions.

Skills and Experience

Previous B2B sales experience, including at least one year within the food and drink industry.
A proven track record of generating leads, winning new business and developing commercial relationships.
Strong prospecting, negotiation and closing skills.
Confident and persuasive written and verbal communication skills.
A customer-focused approach with the ability to build long-term partnerships.
Commercial awareness and the confidence to discuss pricing and contract terms.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Comfortable working independently and managing a varied sales pipeline.
Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office and digital communication tools.
A proactive, resilient and results-driven approach.

Essential Requirements

Minimum of one year's food and drink sales experience.
Full UK driving licence.
Willingness to travel for approximately 50% of the role.
