Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Friday 4:00 PM finish)

Potential for Hybrid working

Salary is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications

Our client is seeking a dynamic and commercially minded Senior Finance Manager to lead the finance function within a fast-paced professional services business. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual who thrives in a challenging environment and has a passion for driving financial performance.

Role Overview:
As the Senior Finance Manager, the successful candidate will take ownership of the day-to-day finance operations, which encompass management accounting, financial control, budgeting, forecasting, payroll oversight, and commercial analysis. This role will provide valuable insights into business performance, guiding strategic decisions that enhance revenue, profitability, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Management Accounts & Financial Reporting:

- Own the monthly management accounts process, delivering accurate and timely reports.
- Prepare comprehensive P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
- Produce insightful management and Board reporting packs, highlighting key movements and performance.

Staff Performance & Commercial Analysis:

- Generate regular reports on staff performance, analysing revenue and profitability trends.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to improve financial understanding and address commercial risks.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow:

- Coordinate the annual budgeting process and maintain ongoing financial forecasts.
- Provide variance analysis and insights into emerging financial opportunities.

Payroll Oversight:

- Ensure accurate payroll processing, working closely with internal teams and external providers.
- Support commission and bonus calculations, ensuring compliance with payroll requirements.

Financial Control & Operations:

- Maintain strong financial controls and oversee transactional finance areas.
- Continuously seek improvements in finance processes for enhanced efficiency.

Business Partnering:

- Build robust relationships with operational teams and translate financial information into actionable insights.

Team Development:

- Mentor and develop finance team members, enhancing their skills and contributions to the function.

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

- Strong management accounting experience, preferably within an SME or growing business.
- Expertise in producing management accounts from start to finish.
- Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a commercial mindset.
- Strong communication skills to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Desirable:

- Experience within professional services.

- Experience working with Power BI

- Experience working with AI for finance reporting
- Familiarity with payroll processes and relevant regulations

Qualifications:
Candidates may be ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience. Practical experience and commercial insight are prioritised over formal qualifications.
