Job Title: Conveyancing Assistant

Location: Exmouth (Office Based)

Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 PA

Hours: Full Time (Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm with a 1-hour lunch break)

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and successful organisation looking to add an experienced Conveyancing Assistant or Paralegal to their Residential Conveyancing team based in Exmouth.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with residential conveyancing experience who enjoys managing a varied workload, supporting fee earners and playing an integral part in progressing property transactions from start to finish.

You'll be joining a professional and friendly team where quality, accuracy and client care are at the heart of everything they do.

The Role

As a Conveyancing Assistant, you'll provide essential support throughout the residential conveyancing process, assisting with transactions from initial instruction through to completion. You'll manage your own workload, liaise with clients and third parties, and ensure matters progress smoothly and efficiently.

This role would suit someone with previous residential conveyancing experience who is confident working independently, able to prioritise competing deadlines and enjoys working within a collaborative legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assisting with the progression of residential conveyancing transactions from instruction through to completion.
Preparing draft contract papers and supporting documentation.
Handling sale enquiries and liaising with relevant parties.
Ordering property searches and carrying out Land Registry searches.
Supporting exchanges and completions, including preparing completion statements and SDLT forms.
Managing post-completion matters.
Producing accurate documents using case management systems.
Handling telephone enquiries professionally and providing clear, accurate updates.
Providing occasional reception support when required.
Supporting colleagues within the Residential Conveyancing team and working collaboratively to deliver excellent client service.

Requirements

We're looking for an organised, proactive and detail-focused individual who enjoys working in a busy professional environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.

You'll need:

Previous experience as a Conveyancing Assistant, Legal Assistant or Paralegal within residential conveyancing.
Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
A confident and professional telephone manner.
The ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
A positive and flexible approach to work.
Confidence using Microsoft Office packages and legal case management systems.
