We're currently recruiting for a Residential Manager on behalf of a well-established residential care home based in Wheatley Hill, Durham.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced care professional looking to take the lead in a rewarding management role. You'll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring high standards of care, leading and developing a dedicated team, and creating a safe, supportive environment where residents can thrive.

Working closely with residents, families, healthcare professionals and regulatory bodies, you'll play a key role in maintaining compliance, driving quality improvements and supporting the continued success of the service.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day running of the residential care home, ensuring high-quality care and support is delivered at all times
Maintain compliance with CQC regulations, health and safety requirements, and relevant legislation
Develop, implement and monitor personalised care plans that promote dignity, independence and choice
Oversee medication management and ensure clinical procedures are followed appropriately
Lead, motivate and develop the care team to achieve exceptional standards of care
Manage recruitment, training, supervision and performance management processes
Coordinate staff rotas to ensure effective staffing levels and operational efficiency
Monitor budgets, occupancy levels and overall financial performance of the service
Support strategic decisions that contribute to the growth and reputation of the home
Build positive relationships with residents, families and external stakeholders
Liaise with local authorities, healthcare professionals and regulatory bodies
Promote a positive, inclusive and supportive culture throughout the home

About You

Previous management experience within a residential care, nursing home or supported living environment
Strong leadership, communication and people management skills
Excellent knowledge of CQC requirements, safeguarding and care sector regulations
Experience managing budgets and financial performance
Passionate about delivering high-quality person-centred care
Ability to build strong relationships with residents, families and professionals
Highly organised with excellent problem-solving abilities
Committed to continuous professional development and service improvement
Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification or willingness to work towards it
