Business Support Officer

Location: Lyndhurst

Salary: £27,514 – £31,374 per annum (pro-rata)

Hours: 32 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Working pattern: Flexible 4–5 days or job-share (2 × 16 hours)

Are you an organised administrator with excellent communication skills and a passion for great customer service?

Join a busy Environmental Services team, providing essential administrative and customer support across environmental, licensing and regulatory services.

What you’ll be doing:

Be a key point of contact for residents, businesses and colleagues through phone, email and web chat.
Accurately log enquiries, provide clear operational guidance and refer complex regulatory matters to specialist officers.
Prepare licences, process payments, reconcile corporate credit cards and manage purchase orders.
Manage specific workflows, including pest control enquiries and administrative processes supporting local testing and animal welfare services.
Coordinate meetings, record actions, schedule compliance reminders and keep database records accurate and up to date.

What we’re looking for:

3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above, including English and Mathematics.
Substantial experience working in a busy office administration environment.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with difficult or sensitive enquiries calmly and professionally.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities independently.
