Finance Administrator

Location: Canterbury, Kent
Salary: Up to £29,000 per annum
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm (30-minute lunch break)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Finance Administrator to join our growing team in Canterbury. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator with strong finance support skills to become a key part of a busy and friendly office environment.

This role is predominantly administration focused, supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business and ensuring all records, documentation, and transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Processing customer and supplier invoices.
Assisting with sales and purchase ledger administration.
Managing financial records and maintaining accurate databases.
Allocating payments and assisting with account reconciliations.
Supporting credit control activities and monitoring outstanding payments.
Processing purchase orders and matching invoices.
Liaising with suppliers, customers, and internal departments regarding finance-related queries.
Maintaining digital and paper filing systems.
Assisting with month-end administrative tasks.
Producing reports and updating spreadsheets as required.
Providing general administrative support to the finance function.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Previous experience within an administrative role, ideally supporting a finance or accounts function.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
A professional and proactive approach.

Desirable

Experience using accounting or finance software.
Knowledge of sales ledger, purchase ledger, or credit control processes.
AAT studies or bookkeeping experience would be advantageous but not essential.
