We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and caring Senior Nursery Practitioner to join our dedicated early years team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified practitioner who is passionate about delivering outstanding childcare and education while supporting the Room Lead in the day-to-day running of the room.

The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn, develop, and thrive. They will support the Room Lead in maintaining high standards of care, learning, safeguarding, and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Room Lead in the daily organisation and management of the nursery room.
Deliver high-quality care and learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Act as a key person, building strong relationships with children and their families.
Observe, assess, and record children's development and progress.
Assist with planning and implementing engaging activities that support children's individual learning needs.
Support and mentor junior practitioners, apprentices, and students.
Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are consistently followed.
Promote positive behaviour and inclusive practice throughout the setting.
Contribute to maintaining a welcoming, clean, and stimulating learning environment.
Communicate effectively with parents, carers, colleagues, and external professionals.

Essential Requirements

Level 3 qualification in Early Years Childcare (or equivalent).
Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting. (Ideally 5+ years)
Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding requirements.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
Ability to work proactively and support room leadership responsibilities when required.

Desirable

Experience supporting room management or leading a team.
Paediatric First Aid qualification.
Additional training in safeguarding, SEND, or behaviour management.
