Start: 1st September
Hours: 7:30am - 3:30pm
Contract: Term Time + 2 Weeks
Location: Lambeth
Ofsted: Good

We are seeking an experienced Admin/Cover Manager to join a thriving, Ofsted-rated Good secondary school in the heart of Lambeth. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and proactive professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced school environment and can effectively coordinate daily cover arrangements while supporting the wider administrative functions of the school.

Please note: Only candidates with previous school-based administrative experience and strong working knowledge of SIMS will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Managing the daily cover arrangements for teaching staff, including coordinating both planned and emergency absences
Liaising with supply agencies and external cover staff where required
Maintaining accurate staff absence and cover records using SIMS
Providing administrative support to the school office and leadership team
Managing student and staff data, ensuring records remain accurate and up to date
Supporting attendance and reporting processes
Responding to enquiries from staff, parents, and external stakeholders
Ensuring safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times

Requirements

Essential: Previous experience working in a school administrative or cover management role
Strong working knowledge of SIMS
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Ability to prioritise and multitask effectively in a busy school environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Professional, reliable, and approachable manner
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
