The Trust has grown significantly in recent years, benefitting from a strong leadership team and organisational structure, positioning us to deliver the best possible outcomes for nature and the Shropshire community.

Our HR strategy focuses on strengthening employee engagement, manager coaching, supporting employee learning and development and expanding wellbeing initiatives across the Trust. We are also exploring opportunities to align our ways of working with those of The Wildlife Trusts (TWT) nationally.

What you will be doing:

This newly created role is responsible for providing efficient and effective administrative support across day-to-day people activities and processes, ensuring they are delivered accurately and in line with Trust policies and procedures.

The role supports the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment and selection, onboarding, training & development, DBS checks, employee records management and leaver processes, helping to provide a positive and professional experience for employees at every stage of their journey with the Trust.

You will get to know all teams at Shropshire Wildlife Trust (SWT), understand their roles and how they operate. You’ll also establish an effective working relationship with HR counterparts leads in TWT and other Wildlife Trusts to share best practice.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and empathetic HR professional to join our team and support us on our journey towards a thriving natural world.

You will be committed to maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and discretion, with a proactive and adaptable approach to your work. You'll have exceptional attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload, responding positively and effectively to changing priorities. You will also be willing to provide administrative support across the organisation as needed, working collaboratively to help the Trust achieve its goals.

We are looking for:

CIPD qualified to Level 3, with demonstrable experience of HR administration and policy advice.
A good understanding of HR legislation and experience in applying policies/procedures.
The ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across an organisation.
The ability to effectively and confidently communicate complex ideas and information to a range of audiences.
Excellent IT skills with a high proficiency in including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email.
Good written communication, able to produce clear, accurate and inclusive materials.

You will be required to work on Monday and Thursday. The third day can be agreed at appointment.

We combine projects across Shropshire (including Telford & Wrekin) with advocacy and campaigning to restore nature and to engage people. We manage over 40 nature reserves and have almost 50 staff, 300 volunteers, and over 9000 members. SWT is an autonomous charity, but we are increasingly working collectively, as part of The Wildlife Trusts (TWT), to ensure that our local actions have a national impact and help to address global issues.
