The role of Retail Security Officer:

Providing a visible uniformed deterrent, to contribute to the safety and security of the client's premises and staff
Carrying out Company Policy on loss prevention and ensuring the safety of staff and visitors
Lawfully deter potential troublemakers on site
Observe and report incidents using the correct reporting systems
Carrying out all duties assigned by the client or manager to whom you are responsible
Ensuring site knowledge is kept up to date and developments at the local level are identified
Understanding and implementing any Fire and Safety evacuation procedures
Assisting, if required by the Client, with staff and contractor searches
Ensuring that the Security base is always maintained in a clean and tidy condition
Conducting yourself, at all times, in a manner which will bring credit to yourself and the Company, ensuring a full uniform is worn, and an SIA licence is clearly displayed

The ideal Retail Security Officer:

Must have an SIA Door Supervisor or SIA Security Licence
Great communication and customer service skills
Tech-savvy enough to use digital devices, as a lot of admin is digital and paperless
Aged 18 or over
A confident communicator who is a team player
The drive to always provide a friendly and professional service
