Warehouse Operative - Southampton, SO18

The rewards

Standard: £12.71 per hour (rising to £12.79 after 12 weeks)
Nights: £13.47 per hour (rising to £14.17 after 12 weeks)

Hours

Flexible shift patterns available, with variable start and finish times dependent on workload and parcel volumes
Inbound: Start times between 11am - 2pm
Twilight: Start times between 2pm - 5pm
Nights: Start times between 8pm - midnight
Shifts typically last 5-9 hours; longer hours may be required during peak periods
Due to the nature of the operation, start and finish times cannot be guaranteed in advance and will vary according to workload, so a flexible approach to working hours is required
Commitment to working Sundays and occasional Saturdays, with flexibility across all 7 days

The role of Warehouse Operative:

Accurately scan and sort parcels according to destination (~min 2000 parcels per shift)
Build crates, palletise parcels, and ensure items are securely prepared for dispatch
Support the safe, efficient operation of the warehouse as part of a collaborative team
Utilise strong attention to detail and follow written instructions to achieve high standards
Loading and unloading trailers

The ideal Warehouse Operative:

Able to communicate confidently in both spoken and written English
Capable of understanding and following scanning, labelling, and sorting instructions
Physically fit to handle manual tasks in a fast-paced environment and be able to lift up to 15 kg, when unloading trailers
Reliable and punctual, with a positive approach to teamwork
Flexible
