HR Manager

Are you an experienced HR professional seeking a rewarding opportunity to support a vibrant and diverse community? As HR Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering hands-on operational HR services, helping ensure a positive, compliant, and inclusive working environment for approximately 200 operational staff members.

HR Manager Responsibilities

This position will involve, but will not be limited to:

Providing HR guidance and support to managers across various operational teams, including housekeeping, catering, and events, ensuring alignment with employment law and best practices.
Supporting recruitment and onboarding processes to attract and retain talent that contributes to the vibrant staff community.
Managing staff disciplinary, grievance, and investigation cases (around 2-3 per month), ensuring fair and lawful procedures are followed.
Leading on training and development initiatives while delivering inductions for new starters, to foster professional growth.
Interpreting HR policies, supporting project work, and implementing procedures that enhance efficiency and compliance.
Offering welfare support to staff and actively promoting an inclusive and respectful workplace culture.
Working onsite four days per week, engaging directly with staff across different departments and client groups, including shift workers such as night porters and cleaners.

HR Manager Experience Essentials

CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent with continuous professional development.
Extensive experience in HR ER case management, employment law, and policy implementation.
Proven ability to support and advise managers effectively on HR and ER issues.
Experience working with diverse staff groups, including shift workers, and supporting multilingual staff.
Strong interpersonal skills, discretion, and empathy.
Demonstrable creativity in communicating HR matters to various audiences.
Previous experience within an Oxford College or hospitality sector would be an advantage
Previous line management experience
Ability to work onsite four days per week and adapt to changing work patterns.

Location

The role involves working onsite in a central Oxford campus environment accessible by multiple transport links, with no car parking available. Flexibility to work one day from home is available, depending on operational demands.
