The role of Senior Nursery Room Leader:

Lead the planning and delivery of high-quality, age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework
Take a senior leadership role within the room, supporting and mentoring practitioners to maintain excellent standards
Create a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all children
Act as Key Person, overseeing children's learning, development, wellbeing, and care needs
Monitor, assess, and record children's progress, sharing updates and milestones with parents and carers
Build strong, trusting relationships with families through clear and effective communication
Support safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety compliance across the setting
Drive continuous improvement within the room, contributing to overall nursery quality and standards

The ideal Senior Nursery Room Leader:

Level 3 qualification or above in Early Years Education (essential)
Significant experience in an Early Years setting, ideally as a Room Leader or in a senior nursery role
Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and child protection requirements
Confident leadership skills with the ability to support, motivate, and develop a team
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Passionate about early childhood development and delivering outstanding care and education
Committed to maintaining the highest professional standards
