The Role

As a Warehouse Assistant you will work as part of a team reporting to the Warehouse Manager. You will be responsible for ensuring stock is available for production and finished products are packed and dispatched as per customer requirements.
Your main duties will include:

Managing Stock by maintaining stock levels, rotated stock appropriately dependent on expiry date and ensuring storage instructions are adhered to.
Checking deliveries and reporting any discrepancies.
Co-ordinating couriers to ensure the best turnaround time.

The Person - Skills and qualities required

Applicants must have experience of working in a warehouse and using a handheld scanning device.

We are looking for a real problem solver who has the ability to use their own initiative. It is also essential that you are able to prioritise your time effectively when challenged with multiple deadlines.

In addition, you will need good oral/telephone and written communication skills in English, be methodical in approach, able to demonstrate close attention to detail and concentrate for long periods of time.

An appreciation of customer needs and experience of working as part of a busy team to tight deadlines without losing focus are also essential.

Hours of work are 10:00 - 18:30, Monday to Friday with 45 minutes for lunch. There is also a requirement to work four contracted Saturdays throughout the year. Due to the line of work and patients awaiting treatments, there may be occasions where you will stay over the contracted finish time to complete the work orders for the day. Whether that is a supply of Parenteral Nutrition or Chemotherapy, it is vital for patients to receive this on the day it is required.
