We are recruiting on behalf of an established accountancy and tax practice based in Barnes, Southwest London, which works with an interesting and varied client base, including clients within the entertainment industry.

They are looking for a highly organised, accurate and proactive Accounts Assistant / Semi-Senior Accountant to join their accounts and tax team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with accountancy practice experience who is looking to continue developing their career within a supportive firm. A study package is available for candidates working towards a relevant professional qualification.

The Role

Working as part of the accounts and tax team, your responsibilities will include:

Recording income and expenses for self-employed clients, partnerships, LLPs and limited companies
Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns
Preparing self-employed and partnership accounts for Self Assessment tax returns
Preparing rental accounts for Self Assessment tax returns
Preparing and filing Making Tax Digital (MTD) reports for self-employed and rental clients
Preparing and filing company accounts under FRS 105 and FRS 102
Preparing and filing annual Corporation Tax returns
Handling incoming calls, emails and correspondence professionally
Supporting colleagues across the wider team when required

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working within an accountancy practice and will be:

Highly accurate with excellent attention to detail
Able to work efficiently and manage multiple priorities
Proactive and willing to support other members of the team
Confident using Excel
Comfortable working across a varied portfolio of clients
Based within a reasonable commuting distance of Barnes – ideally no more than approximately 45 minutes

Salary & Benefits

£25,000–£30,000, depending on experience and qualifications

Monday–Thursday: 9:00am–5:30pm
