Office Administrator

Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Type: Temp to Perm

Pay rate: £12.71
Location: Wakefield, WF1

Job Summary

We are seeking an organised, reliable, and proactive Office Administrator to support the smooth day-to-day running of our office. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the team, maintain accurate records, coordinate office activities, and ensure that employees, customers, and visitors receive a professional and efficient service.

The ideal candidate will have strong organisational and communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Provide general administrative and clerical support to management and staff.
Answer and direct telephone calls, emails, and general enquiries.
Welcome visitors and provide professional front-of-house support where required.
Manage diaries, appointments, meetings, and meeting room bookings.
Prepare letters, reports, spreadsheets, presentations, and other business documents.
Maintain accurate electronic and paper filing systems.
Process incoming and outgoing post, correspondence, and deliveries.
Order and maintain office supplies, stationery, and equipment.
Liaise with suppliers, contractors, customers, and other external contacts.
Assist with invoices, purchase orders, expenses, and basic financial administration.
Maintain employee, customer, supplier, and company records as appropriate.
Support onboarding and other basic HR administration when required.
Coordinate travel arrangements, meetings, and company events where necessary.
Monitor office facilities and report maintenance or equipment issues.
Ensure confidential and sensitive information is handled appropriately.
Support management and colleagues with ad-hoc administrative tasks and projects.
Help maintain an organised, professional, and efficient working environment.

Essential:

Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Good attention to detail and accuracy.
Confident using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks.
Professional and courteous telephone and email manner.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Discretion when handling confidential information.
