Position: Administration Assistant (Fixed Term Contract until 22nd December 2026)

Location: Ashford

Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 Pro Rata (DOE)

A well-established engineering manufacturer specialising in the design and manufacture of specialist industrial machinery is looking to recruit an Administration Assistant to join its friendly team in Ashford on a fixed-term contract until 22nd December 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive administrator to join a busy export-focused business. Working within a small administration team, you will provide support across sales administration, purchasing, customer service and shipping activities, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the office.

Job Overview

Producing customer quotations, sales orders and purchase orders
Progressing customer and supplier orders through to completion
Liaising with customers via telephone and email
Coordinating the shipment of goods
Assisting with import documentation and paperwork checks
Handling incoming telephone calls and email enquiries
Supporting the administration team with general office duties
Working closely with colleagues to ensure excellent customer service and efficient order processing

Requirements

Previous administration experience within an office environment
Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong organisational skills with good attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Professional and proactive approach to work

Desirable

Experience of export documentation or shipping goods
Knowledge of Sage
Experience working to deadlines within a busy office environment

Salary & Benefits

Hours of Work

Monday to Thursday: 08:00 - 16:30
Friday: 08:00 - 13:00
37 hours per week
Full-time, fixed-term contract until 22nd December 2026
