Nursery Assistant – Flexible Hours

TeacherActive is currently working with a number of fantastic nurseries and Early Years settings and is looking to recruit reliable, enthusiastic and caring Nursery Assistants to join our growing team.

If you are looking for flexible work that fits around your lifestyle, studies or other commitments, we have a variety of opportunities available. Whether you are looking for occasional shifts or regular work on a 0-hour contract, we can offer assignments to suit your availability.

Working through TeacherActive gives you the opportunity to gain experience in a range of nursery settings while receiving ongoing support from a dedicated consultant throughout your journey.

The Role

• Flexible working to suit your availability

• 0-hour contract

• Monday to Friday opportunities available

• Full-day and half-day shifts available

• Day-to-day, short-term and long-term assignments

• Competitive hourly rates of pay

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience working within a nursery, preschool or Early Years setting is essential

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification is desirable but not essential

• A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• A positive, reliable and flexible approach to work

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through TeacherActive)

• Eligibility to work in the UK

Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Practitioners in delivering high-quality care and education

• Assist in creating a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment for children

• Engage children in fun and educational activities throughout the day

• Help with daily routines, including mealtimes, playtime, personal care and outdoor activities

• Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues

• Maintain high standards of hygiene, health and safety within the nursery

• Follow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times

• Be flexible to work across different rooms and age groups as required

• Work collaboratively as part of the nursery team to provide outstanding care
