About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced FLT Driver (Counterbalance) to join a leading automotive manufacturing and logistics operation based in Washington, Sunderland. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced production environment, supporting the movement of materials and components essential to the manufacturing process.

The successful candidate will hold a valid Counterbalance FLT licence and have previous experience operating forklifts within a manufacturing, automotive, or warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently.
Loading and unloading deliveries, ensuring goods are handled correctly.
Supplying production lines with automotive components and raw materials.
Transporting finished goods between warehouse and production areas.
Conducting daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects.
Ensuring stock is stored accurately and safely within designated locations.
Completing associated paperwork and stock control documentation.
Adhering to all health and safety procedures and site regulations.
Supporting general warehouse and production activities when required.
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

Candidate Requirements

Valid and in-date Counterbalance FLT licence (RTITB, ITSSAR or equivalent).
Previous experience operating Counterbalance FLTs within a manufacturing, automotive, or logistics environment.
Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to follow work instructions and meet production targets.
Flexibility to work shifts, overtime, and weekends when required.
Experience with SAP, warehouse management systems, or stock control processes would be advantageous.

Desired Skills & Experience

Automotive sector experience.
Line-feed or production support experience.
Experience loading and unloading HGVs.
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Just-In-Time (JIT) processes.
Additional FLT licences (Reach, VNA, etc.) would be beneficial but are not essential.
