JOB TITLE: Graduate Legal Assistant

LOCATION: Yeovil & Ilminster

SALARY: £25,000 - £27,000 PA DOE

HOURS: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm

ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are delighted to be partnering with a friendly, well-established law firm in Yeovil who are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Legal Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to build a rewarding career within the legal sector, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a supportive environment that encourages development and progression. This role will begin on a temporary basis, with strong potential to become permanent for the right individual.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supporting the management of case files, including opening new matters and preparing documentation packs
Assisting with the drafting of legal documents such as statements of case, legal aid applications, and cost applications
Reviewing case materials including disclosure and witness statements, and preparing summaries for fee earners
Attending hearings, client meetings, and conferences, taking clear and accurate notes
Providing day-to-day administrative and team support, working closely with colleagues across the department

A genuine interest in pursuing a career in the legal sector
Confident communication skills with a professional telephone manner
Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
