Nursery Assistant
Full-Time | Permanent Position
Colchester, Essex

TeacherActive is proud to be working in partnership with a well-established and nurturing nursery in the Colchester area. The nursery is currently seeking enthusiastic and caring Nursery Assistants to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young children's development and creating positive early learning experiences. Whether you are experienced within an early years setting or looking to further develop your childcare career, this role offers the chance to work within a supportive and welcoming environment.

The Role:

• Supporting the day-to-day care, learning, and development of children aged 0–5 years
• Assisting with the delivery of engaging and age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• Helping to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for all children
• Supporting children's personal, social, emotional, and physical development
• Building positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
• Assisting with daily routines, including meal times, personal care, and outdoor play
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and safeguarding throughout the nursery

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience working with young children in a nursery, preschool, childcare, or educational setting is desirable
• A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development
• A positive, caring, and enthusiastic attitude
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Knowledge of the EYFS framework is desirable
• An Early Years qualification is advantageous but not essential

Essential Requirements:

• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
• Satisfactory references covering the last two years
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
• A professional and reliable approach to work
