Senior School Administrative Officer

Immediate Start | Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity

SANZA Teaching Agency is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and well-established primary school seeking an experienced Senior School Administrative Officer to join their administration team immediately.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and proactive administrator to play a key role in the day-to-day running of a busy school office. The successful candidate will provide high-quality administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team, staff, pupils, parents, and external stakeholders, ensuring the efficient operation of school systems and procedures.

Monday to Friday

8:00am - 4:00pm

Pay

£17-£18 per hour PAYE

Contract

Long-term position with immediate start with the role continuing into September 2026.

The Role

The Senior School Administrative Officer will be responsible for supporting the effective administration of the school and ensuring that all office functions operate smoothly and efficiently.

Key responsibilities will include:

Managing the reception area and acting as the first point of contact for parents, visitors, staff, and external agencies
Handling telephone, email, and face-to-face enquiries in a professional and courteous manner
Maintaining accurate pupil records and ensuring school databases remain up to date
Managing admissions, attendance, pupil transfers, and leavers/joiners processes
Producing reports, letters, correspondence, and administrative documentation
Supporting the Senior Leadership Team with administrative tasks, diary management, and meeting coordination
Managing shared inboxes and responding to enquiries within agreed timescales
Assisting with school census returns and pupil data administration
Maintaining confidential records in accordance with GDPR and safeguarding requirements
Liaising with local authorities, external agencies, and service providers
Supporting the organisation of school events, educational visits, and parent communications
Contributing to the continuous improvement of administrative systems and procedures

About You

The successful candidate will:

Have previous experience working within a school administration role
Possess strong working knowledge of Arbor MIS (essential)
Have experience managing pupil data and maintaining accurate records
Demonstrate excellent organisational and administrative skills
Have strong written and verbal communication skills
Be able to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Be proficient in Microsoft Office and other administrative systems
Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
