We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Sandwell, seeking a dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join their committed team on a full-time basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with secondary-aged pupils who require additional support to re-engage with education.

The Role

Deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils.
Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive.
Build positive relationships with pupils, helping to improve engagement, confidence and achievement.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral staff and the wider multidisciplinary team to support student progress.

The Ideal Candidate

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Have previous experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level.
Have proven experience working with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ideally within a PRU, alternative provision or specialist setting.
Be confident managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour management strategies.
Be resilient, adaptable and committed to supporting vulnerable young people.
Be available to work full-time.
