British Judo is the National Governing Body for Judo in the UK. We support our Judo clubs to deliver to a growing membership across the home countries of over 25,000 members. Our judo family is really important to us and we want to ensure that we provide the best possible service to them at all times.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to appoint an experienced full-time Head of Inclusion, Safeguarding and Wellbeing.

Reporting to the Development Director you will lead the existing safeguarding team and be based at the British Judo Central Office at the University of Wolverhampton Campus in Walsall. You will have the accountability for setting, delivering and driving the Inclusion, Wellbeing and Safeguarding strategy, action plan and agenda across the Association.

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of Safeguarding responsibilities and processes
  • Ability to influence and work closely with key stakeholders and Senior Leaders
  • Able to create and deliver training both internally and externally
  • Building and managing key relationships internally and with external partners
  • Highly organised with a positive can-do attitude
  • Experience managing and resolving cases of poor practice

Desired Skills

  • Ideally, have knowledge of Judo as a player or official Have knowledge of Inclusion, Safeguarding and Wellbeing within a sports setting
