MI and Data Analyst

We are looking for an MI Data Analyst to join our fantastic team on a remote basis, in this role you will support the MI and Data Team with the day to day MI, Data and Power BI functions. Summary of Role
To support the MI & Data team and wider business with the day to day BI requirements and to provide support developing current/new BI output using Power BI, Azure , Data Factory, SSIS, Logic Apps.
 
Brief summary of principle accountabilities

To manage the day-to-day reporting requirements of scheduled excel reporting and handle any ad-hoc requests that arise in a timely manner.

To be a key part of the team building and implementing the Babington Data Warehouse using Azure, Data Factory, Logic Apps, SSIS and Power BI. 

To learn the functionality of Babington’s core systems and understand how they are deployed (PICS, OneFile, BUD, Azure PowerBI, Office 365) in order to be able to apply that knowledge to creating insightful BI as required.

To assist the team in fulfilling the BI requirements of the business through its transformation project and business as usual operations subsequently.

To use data and MI to identify and analyse performance trends and business risks.

To identify ways in which system usage can support an increase in operational efficiency and productivity.

To undertake system and reporting training with colleagues and managers as appropriate and to identity training needs.

To use data analysis to support with compliance, programme reviews and continuous improvement activity.

Maintain professional standards in line with internal capability, confidentiality, disciplinary and safeguarding policies, and procedures.

Take responsibility for your own personal development, working with your line manager and colleagues to identify areas for development and ensuring that these are met through an appropriate mix of formal and informal learning, combined with networking with peers inside and outside of Babington.

Ensure that all data collected, shared, and stored is handled in line with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and compliant with ISO 27001 guidelines.

Actively encourage the sharing of best practice, tools and materials with peers and within the team.

Ensure that a positive and proactive culture is maintained in respect of health, environment and safety and that the letter and the spirit of all statutory obligations are met.

Support the achievement of team and departments goals by meeting personal targets set.

Qualifications 

Grade A-C GCSE in English and maths or equivalent 

Certified Data/BI related qualifications

Skills and experience 

Working with data in a funded educational environment (FE, Private Training Provider)

Experience of using Azure, Data Factory and SSIS

Experience of working in a BI Team in a fast-paced changing environment

Experience of working with PowerBI

Advanced Excel Skills

Experience of using MYSQL

Experience of using SharePoint (lists, etc)

Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of stakeholders encountered in the role

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Ability to learn and develop skills on the job

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to manage workload, time and resources effectively.

Knowledge of GDPR/Information Security and an appetite to conform and drive compliance where necessary
