We have an opportunity in our Engineering Tool Room for a Trainee Tooling Engineer or Trainee Extrusion Technician. You may be part qualified, have some knowledge of or be semi skilled as a Tool Maker or Fitter Machinist and are looking to develop your career in the Engineering sector?

The team has an important role in our Manufacturing Plant and assists production operations, through maintenance of the extrusion tools in downtime at our extrusion factory. You will work in a small team all dedicated to engineering and the engineering process within manufacturing.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate some tooling knowledge and skills or awareness in extrusion tooling or plastic tooling manufacture, although you will be trained by us and invested in to gain skills and recognised qaulifcations as you develop in the role. The role is workshop based and is situated on site.

Responsibilities

Being trained to support for the extrusion tooling strategic plan
Learning to maintain & repair extrusion tooling
Learn to offer support to, Extrusion Operators, Tool Makers, Die Changers, Project Engineers & Designers as required
Co-operate with colleagues to schedule & prioritise activities
Ensure Tool Room & its equipment is maintained to high standards
Qualifications

You will be have a tool making or fitter machinist apprenticeship or relevant skills
Some bench work & assembly skills
You will be willing to learn how to read & create engineering drawings
Some basic TIG welding skills
Basic IT skills
