HORTICULTURAL BUYER
HydroSure is seeking an exceptional person to join the company.
We are a successful online business and require an additional member of the team to help support the pace of growth for HydroSure Horticultural products. As a rapidly expanding business, you will be joining the team at an exciting time as we realise the potential to become a global market-leading irrigation online retailer. Recognised as an award-winning company with outstanding people and an entrepreneurial environment, the ideal candidate will enjoy the buzz of creating a market-leading business with exceptional people.
We seek the brightest and the best. Based in our Telford Head office, this is an excellent opportunity for an intelligent, analytical, hardworking, well-organised, and self-driven individual with strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and develop online product ranges to deliver profitable business growth
* Understand the customer journey: customer insight, through to communicating product benefits and reasons to believe, identifying opportunities based on key reason/s for purchase
* Deliver innovation through new lines and product development
* Source and meet suitable suppliers/manufacturers, including attending UK and international trade shows to drive innovation
* Developing strong existing and building new supplier relationships
* Negotiate prices, payment terms, contracts as well as other aspects of supplier accounts
* Ongoing margin management
* Negotiate prices, payment terms, contracts as well as other aspects of supplier accounts
* Manage the product selection process and critical path, and effective communication to Merchandising team to ensure products and categories are optimally presented on our website.
* Support the business to deliver ad-hoc projects when required
About the successful candidate:
* Has a commercial eye to identify gaps in the range and identify new market opportunities.
* A confident negotiator with the ability to develop effective business relationships
* A passion and drive to succeed, with a track record of delivering outstanding results
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* A high degree of numeracy and literacy
* Able to analyse data and make quick commercial decisions based on information available
* Organised, able to manage own workload, prioritise and multitask
* Confident, driven, resilient and professional
* A great team player with a ‘can do’ attitude
* Goes above and beyond just getting the day to-day tasks done
Education and Experience:
* Required: Graduate with great academic achievements – please detail qualifications achieved and grades awarded.
* A background in our product ranges is not necessary
* Previous buying/trading/product selection/product development experience is preferred.
* Experience in importing and own brand development welcomed

* Flexible working Homeworking 1 Day / Week
