HMRC are designing new systems, products, and processes around our customers to make it as easy as possible for them to connect with us.

As RPA Test Manager, you will work closely with product owners, developers, architects, business analysts, etc. and prepare test plans and detailed test scripts and/or automated tests. You will also perform test execution, collate test evidence and produce test reports.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for test improvement and optimisation.
• Promote and advocate test capabilities across CDIO and HMRC.
• Leadership and line management responsibilities including mentoring of QAT Analysts nurturing talent, succession planning and supplier management when required.
• Make critical decisions relating to test within the context of the delivery environment.
• Work collaboratively with both technical experts and stakeholders throughout delivery.
• Developing test artefacts e.g., test data, automated test packs, end-to-end test suites etc.
• Reviewing and analysing requirements and specifications to define comprehensive test scenarios and conditions.
• Preparing test plans, test scripts and test reports.
• Assuring high quality and accuracy is maintained throughout delivery.
• Preparing and maintaining test packs for use with automated test tools.
• Executing manual and automated test scripts, observing process and outcomes and recording test results.
• Identifying and logging defects.
• Creating or updating tests to enable retest of corrected defects or change requirements.
• Manage control go lives (CGLs) and testing of bug fixes.
• Supporting the promotion of RPA capabilities to stakeholders across CSG and the wider HMRC.

Essential Criteria:

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate practical knowledge and experience in the following:
• Previous experience of managing the testing of complex IT products in an agile delivery.
• Different test phases and relevant techniques.
• Understanding of RPA technologies in particular NICE.
• Use of an automated testing tool/framework.
• Qualified at ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level as a minimum or ISEB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing – or prepared to work towards a relevant qualification.
