Maintenance Operative

Location: North Finchley, London

Salary: £24,000 per annum

Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

We are sourcing a Maintenance Operative to join our team at our Lyndhurst service in North Finchley, who will provide maintenance support required to facilitate the smooth running of the units and upkeep to the buildings.

The Service:

Lyndhurst provides residential support to people living with the most complex mental health needs. Lyndhurst is registered with the Care Quality Commission as a specialist residential care home for men and women with complex or enduring mental health disorders. With accommodation across three houses and an experienced staff team, we are able to support individuals with complex challenging behaviour or a forensic history, to transition from acute or secure services into a community setting. We are able to support individuals who are subject to a Community Treatment Order (CTO), or Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS). Lyndhurst is located in North Finchley, a suburb of London in the London Borough of Barnet, situated seven miles north-west of Charing Cross. It is primarily a residential and shopping area and a gateway to a diverse range of occupational, recreational and vocational opportunities.

The Job Role:

The duties and responsibilities of a maintenance operative are to carry out the day-to-day grounds maintenance on our services in order to ensure that they are maintained and kept in a good orderly fashion. Some internal & external decoration in the winter month also required, and some general maintenance may be required. Ideally candidates should have a specific trade that they specialise in (Grounds maintenance, Joinery, Plastering, Plumbing etc) however this is not required if the candidate has adequate all round trade abilities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

To carry out general grounds maintenance including but not limited to grass cutting, hedge trimming, weeding & general tidying.
To carry out internal and external paint and decorating
To assist in maintaining the outside fabric of the building.
To ensure the safe use and storage of all equipment and materials.
To take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and that of others. This includes contributing to a safe and secure environment for staff/residents.
To assist in dealing with emergencies.
To maximise the security of the premises.
To carry out, as and when required, any additional duties and responsibilities as are reasonably compatible with this job description and deemed appropriate by your employer in the interests of the company.
To identify defects and damage, reporting these promptly to the maintenance manager.A car driver is essential.

Must be willing to work 1 week paid On-Call hours per month

All positions are subject to an enhanced DBS Check and satisfactory references.
