Trident Housing, which provides landlord services for the Group in respect of housing management and maintenance

Trident Reach, which is a registered care and support charity providing services to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and those who have been victims of domestic abuse across all age groups across the Midlands.

About the role

We are looking to recruit a Lead Rough Sleepers Outreach Worker to join out award winning outreach team. Support clients rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping on the streets of Birmingham. The role is permanent role working 2 nights a week from 22.30-06.30. Must be flexible Fri-Sun, primarily working Saturday and Sunday. The role is to provide housing and support solutions to some of the most complex and vulnerable people in the City. At times there will be a requirement to support on site at Washington Court a direct access for homeless adults.

The role will involve undertaking extensive foot and vehicle outreach in all weathers through the whole of Birmingham.

Must be a car driver and be willing to drive outreach vehicles.

The role will require working professionally with a range of statutory and voluntary agencies.

About you

We are looking for someone who understands the issues, causes, and solutions to rough sleeping and has experience of working in a similar role. You must have a good understanding of Housing Law and the welfare benefit system. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and excellent problem solving, planning and recording skills.

You will have a wide-ranging experience of working with single homeless people with differing levels of support needs and from different backgrounds and an understanding of the resettlement pathways that need to be in place to reduce rough sleeping.

You will be motivated by the desire to make a real impact on individuals and communities and will be able to work on your own initiative as efficiently as possible across many different locations.

The role will require working professionally with a range of statutory and voluntary agencies.
