An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Finance team, at an award-winning and progressive Fuel Storage solutions and services company, working with an established client base comprising multiple blue chip organisations

Location:      Based in Bronte Country, Bradford

Salary:          Circa £29,500 - £32,000 + Benefits of Health Cash Plan,  enhanced pension, Life Assurance, PMI

Hours:          Monday – Friday 5 days per week 8.30am – 5pm (as required) with on site parking

This is a superb opportunity for an individual who is looking to expand their experience and qualifications within a fast-growing company.  Fuel Storage Solutions Ltd have this year celebrated their 20th anniversary,  and your role will be pivotal in actively supporting and enabling their business expansion plans, combined with protecting their commercial interests and client portfolio. The role provides great exposure and opportunity for development, including CIMA Apprenticeship if desired.

As an analytical thinker with a minimum AAT qualification or similar, looking to take your next career step, you will have previous financial accounting experience with strong mathematical skills, be highly proficient in operating Sage and comfortable with CRM systems, along with all MS office applications. Reporting to the Finance Manager and supported by the Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for processing recurring accounting transactions, month end processing, assist with budgeting and forecasting, including data presentation to the Senior management team, aiding real-time financial analysis and future business decisions.

Previous Industry experience is highly advantageous and some knowledge of engineering and Construction Industry Schemes is preferable, in addition an understanding of the SME environment.

Key responsibilities of the role, although not limited to, will include:

  • Bank reconciliations
  • Credit control and debt management
  • Inputting of income and expenditure transactions, nominal ledger journals
  • Ad hoc cover of payroll processing
  • Monthly CIS tasks, including identifying VAT reverse charges
  • Month end processes, variance identification  
  • Compliance with relevant regulations and legislative standards.
  • Research & Development expenditures and patent box annual claims
  • Mentoring and supporting the Finance Assistant role
  • Use of and maintaining all computer software systems including Sage 50, BrightPay, Synergist (in-house job monitoring software), MS office suite.

To be successful in the role you will:

  • Have AAT qualification or similar, have started or be committed to further education
  • Have strong IT skills and Sage experience
  • Be an analytical and critical thinker, with strong commercial acumen
  • Be able to work independently, but as a supportive team player
  • Be able to manage a prioritise your workload, consistently adhering to deadlines
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy  
  • Be flexible and adaptable      
  • Have excellent communication skills; with the ability to explain financial information to non-financially minded colleagues 
  • Thrive in working to and managing defined individual and departmental KPIs
