About The Role

Full time (37.5 hours per week) and Part time (30 hours per week) roles available

Working as part of our HR Helpdesk team, based within our Central Support Office in Darlington or working from home, you will support our wider HR function and a range of customers across the business dealing with a wide range of HR related queries.

Your role will involve frequent interaction with colleagues and customers where a high level of written and verbal communication skills will be required to deliver excellent customer service, and will also require you to use initiative to get to the bottom of any issues and resolve problems effectively within the given service level agreement (SLA).

You will be a crucial member of the wider HR team and there will be a need for excellent cross team working and the ability to constantly seek better ways of providing services.

Your role will involve:

Assisting the HR Helpdesk Team Leaders in providing a comprehensive generalist HR service to the business.

Acting as a first point of contact for all customers to the Human Resources team providing a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers, dealing promptly and effectively with their HR enquiries via telephone, email or in person.

Taking ownership for the delivery of professional and accurate first line advice to Colleagues, managers and senior managers on all HR matters, including but not limited to, Colleague complaints and grievances, first line policy and procedure advice and terms and conditions, in accordance with HC-One policies, procedures and appropriate legislation, seeing it through to resolution but knowing when to escalate more complex matters to the HR Helpdesk Team Leader, HR Officer or HR Advisor.

Planning, organising and carrying out your work to meet the requirements of the HR department. This will involve liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all internal processes such as starters, leavers and changes are delivered within an agreed timescale whilst also ensuring an excellent customer service.

Liaising with a number of other departments such as payroll, people insight and procurement to share information and provide the best results for our customers

Working alongside the HR Helpdesk Team Leaders to process a range of HR related documents; this involves creating, producing and distributing documents, including employment contracts, using corporate formats and standard templates as required; and processing correspondence within agree timescales.

Making effective and accurate use of the HR/Payroll systems, to input and revise data, ensuring that any potential issues and problems are escalated to the HR Helpdesk Team Leaders as they arise.

Working alongside the HR Helpdesk Team Leaders to seek improvements to HR processes and procedures and contribute to the implementation of this.

Engaging and building strong relationships with our customers, ensuring that everyone is treated with kindness, courtesy and respect at all times.

Providing support to our customers on a number of HR Compliance requirements such as regulatory body registration, DBS and right to work checks escalating to the HR Officer when required.

Maintaining confidentiality in all matters, adhering to Data Protection legislation at all times.

About You

With significant previous administrative support experience within a HR function, you will have a good general level of education including GCSE Mathematics and English, ideally CIPD qualified.

You will be able to quickly establish credibility and respect, build strong working relationships with key stakeholders, have excellent communication and customer service skills, and concise and accurate record keeping skills with the ability to interpret information and report back.
