Salary: Up to £38,000 (total package up to £43,700) plus Veolia benefits (Company bonus scheme, pension)

Location: Home based with occasional travel to an office for collaboration

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

What will you be doing?

The Junior Solution Engineer will be responsible for the management and evolution of our solutions hosted in public cloud environments. Solutions will be developed using public cloud platform services to ensure they are performant, resilient, scalable and efficient, therefore the Junior Solution Engineer will be required to keep up to date with the latest developments in cloud technology.

As a Junior Solution Engineer they will be assisted by senior team members to continually improve their skill level and output.

Your (the Junior Solution Engineer) work will involve the use of serverless and stateless architectures and require knowledge of developing REST APIs for which a demonstrable competency in one or more core development languages and web frameworks will be essential.

Build and deployment of cloud native solutions created within the Innovation and Development team.
Development of REST APIs for the consumption of company data and services
Promote the adoption of developmental best practices within the Innovation and Development team.
Quality of work, continuous professional development, secure by design and documentation.
Work closely with the team to align with the culture of Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodology.
To provide functional and user acceptance testing support to meet the team and customer needs.
To actively contribute to the activities of Incident, Problem, Change and Release Management and ensure all services have access to relevant material management information.

What are we looking for?

Industry recognised software development qualification, as relevant to the skill set (e.g. AWS or Azure) would be desirable.
Knowledge of coding is required.
A strong passion for technology and ambition to succeed as a Junior Solution Engineer.
Strong communication skills.
